Founded in 2024 by Kalena Yiaueki, PENNY is a Los Angeles and New York based production company shaping stories across the worlds of luxury fashion, editorial, beauty, commercial, and narrative film.
With a network spanning New York, Los Angeles, London, and Paris, our reach is global and our perspective, distinctly human.
Named after our muse, Penny the dog, we lead with clarity, sensitivity, and creative precision. We balance professional excellence with authentic interaction, fostering an environment where creativity takes precedent.
At PENNY, we create with integrity and intention, crafting work that reflects truth, beauty, and the people behind it.

Penny was born in Missouri on November 3, 2012. She made her way up to New York City with her puppy litter to the rescue Animal Haven. Her owner-to-be had been stalking the rescue’s site for a dog, knowing in the back of her mind she was probably too irresponsible to have one. Then she saw Penny and everything changed — at the time Penny was named Veruca Salt from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Penny couldn’t have been further from her the character from which she was originally named. Penny was patient. Penny was kind. Penny had a human approach to being a dog — one with her own quirks, the kind that make you love someone more. She had kind eyes that made you feel like she was an actual human.
When Kalena (New Owner of Penny + Future owner PENNY) came to meet her for the first time, Penny was the only puppy in the litter who didn’t rush her. She stayed back and watched. Kalena was immediately drawn to her. She decided right then and there that this dog was her dog.
Next came the name. Kalena was partial to the name Penny — inspired by the photos of Penny Marshall at Lakers games over the years. She then decided that her dog was the spitting image of Penny Marshall.
Penny became Kalena’s best friend and went everywhere with her. She joined her on set and lived alongside her in New York, Paris, and Los Angeles.
Over the years, no matter where Kalena went, she would hear the same question: “Where’s Penny?” Penny was independent and formed her own relationships wherever she went. Because of Kalena’s work, she often traveled, and her dog sitters would tell stories of their adventures together — how everywhere they went, people would recognize Penny and call her name. She became her own entity.
So when Kalena decided to start PENNY, she knew she would name it after her beloved hound. After all, Penny embodied everything the company stood for. Penny has stayed consistent throughout her life and in every environment — forever kind and forever human.
We're always looking to hear from future creative partners.
